Committee GBIF Switzerland

The GBIF Switzerland Committee (Committee for the scientific accompaniment of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility Switzerland) commits itself to accompany the development of the GBIF Swiss Node.

•    It applies and adapts the objectives of the GBIF international community to the needs of Switzerland. It devices a strategy for the expansion of data collected from Swiss institutions relative to the biodiversity and its broadcast via the Internet and the GBIF network
•    It establishes a conceptual framework for the processing of data relative to the biodiversity, by taking into account scientific aspects
•    It advises GBIF Switzerland on the use of funds which are at the disposal of the projects
•    It proposes the strong points to be retained in the call for submission of projects and establishes the criteria of project assessment. These criterions are communicated to the applicants when submission is requested
•    It can require that the external experts evaluate requests whose contents correspond to the principal criteria.  It takes into account the expertise within the framework of its mission and decides which projects to fulfill
It also sees itself as a forum for the institutions and organizations implied in the projects
